Nonstop routes into Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International sits about fifteen minutes from the house, and after the 2026 reshuffle it is served by 26 airlines from 146 cities: the whole U.S. East Coast and Midwest, a deep Canadian winter schedule, and the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Latin America. Every route below is a scheduled nonstop as listed in September 2026; dated launches are marked.

Three Brazilian cities have a scheduled nonstop into FLL on Azul, too far south to fit the frame:

No nonstop, and that is fine
Our September 2026 check of the airport's airline list found no scheduled nonstop between Europe and FLL. Fly into Miami (MIA), about 45 minutes south, which has daily nonstops from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon and more, or connect through a U.S. hub such as New York, Atlanta or Charlotte and land at FLL.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) is about fifteen minutes from the house, and as of September 2026 it is served by 26 airlines from 146 cities. The map above shows every scheduled nonstop the airport lists; the cards below sort them by region with the airlines that fly each one, and this page explains how to read it all.
How to use the map
Hover or tap a city for its airlines and an approximate flying time. Click an airline chip to keep only its routes on the map, and click it again (or “Show all”) to reset. Solid coral lines are scheduled year-round as listed; dashed lines are seasonal or begin on a dated launch this winter; teal lines are international. Three Brazilian cities that Azul serves sit too far south to fit the frame, so they are listed beside the map instead.
What changed in 2026
Spirit Airlines, which had its largest base at FLL, ceased operations on May 2, 2026. That removed a lot of seats in one go, and the rest of the industry has been filling the gap ever since: JetBlue added Colombian cities and Midwest routes, Allegiant announced Boston, Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Omaha for October 2026, Breeze added Dayton, Avelo is starting Dallas/McKinney, United is starting Los Angeles, Frontier is starting Denver, and Southwest and JetBlue are restoring San Diego. Most of those launches land between October and December 2026, which is why so many lines on the map are dashed. By the number of cities served, the biggest carriers at FLL are JetBlue (63), Allegiant (44), Southwest (29), Frontier (18), Breeze (15).
The winter schedule
FLL is a winter airport at heart. The Canadian carriers (Air Canada and Rouge, WestJet, Porter, Flair, Air Transat) run their deepest schedules from roughly November to April, adding cities such as Halifax, London (Ontario), Quebec City, Calgary and Winnipeg for the season. On the U.S. side, Southwest brings back seasonal Northeast and Midwest cities, JetBlue flies Steamboat Springs for the ski crowd, and Allegiant adds Providence and Portsmouth in February 2027. If you are coming between May and October, expect fewer daily choices from the smaller cities and the same solid service from the big hubs.
Choosing an airport in a big metro
Several origin metros feed FLL from more than one airport, and the right one depends on where you live and who you fly. New York has JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, Islip, White Plains and Newburgh; Washington has National, Dulles and Baltimore; Chicago has O’Hare, Midway and Rockford; Dallas has DFW, Love Field and, from November 19, 2026, McKinney; Houston has Bush Intercontinental and Hobby. We wrote a page for each of the biggest origins with the airport-by-airport comparison: New York, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles, Toronto and Montreal. Floridians and Georgians can skip the flight: see Orlando (Brightline or the Turnpike) and Tampa (the drive).
If FLL does not work for you
Miami International (MIA) is about 45 minutes south of the house and is the region’s long-haul gateway, with daily nonstops from Europe, South America and the West Coast on the legacy carriers. Palm Beach International (PBI) is about 50 minutes north and is quieter, with good JetBlue, Delta and American coverage from the Northeast. If a fare into one of them is much better, take it; the drive to the nest is easy from either. What you will not find is a scheduled nonstop from Europe into FLL itself in the September 2026 schedule, so European guests fly into Miami or connect through a U.S. hub.
From FLL to the nest
This is where Fort Lauderdale earns its keep. FLL sits about fifteen minutes from the house on an ordinary day, one of the shortest airport-to-door drives of any Florida city. A rideshare or taxi straight from the terminal is the simple option; if you plan to explore the beaches and take day trips, pick up a rental car at the airport instead. Our airport tips cover the terminals and the ride-app pickup, the airport and Brightline guide has the train and shuttle details, and getting around covers the water taxi and whether you need a car at all.

Questions people ask
How many airlines fly nonstop to Fort Lauderdale?
As of September 2026 the airport lists 26 airlines with scheduled nonstop service from 146 cities: the big U.S. network carriers, the U.S. low-cost carriers, six Canadian airlines, and a group of Caribbean and Latin American carriers. Spirit Airlines, which used to be the largest airline at FLL, ceased operations on May 2, 2026.
Which airline has the most routes to Fort Lauderdale?
Counting cities served, JetBlue (63), Allegiant (44), Southwest (29), Frontier (18), Breeze (15). JetBlue treats Fort Lauderdale as one of its focus cities and flies the widest spread of routes, including most of the Caribbean and Latin American cities.
Are there nonstop flights from Europe to Fort Lauderdale?
Not in the September 2026 schedule. European travelers fly into Miami International, about 45 minutes south of the house, which has daily nonstops from cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid and Lisbon, or they connect through a U.S. hub such as New York, Atlanta or Charlotte and land at FLL.
What does 'seasonal' mean on the map?
A seasonal route runs only part of the year, typically from around November to April for the Canadian and Northeast routes. The map shows those as dashed lines. Dated launches (a route that begins on a specific 2026 or 2027 date) are dashed too, with the date in the hover card and in the region tables.
How far is the airport from Turtle Nest Bungalow?
About fifteen minutes by car on an ordinary day. FLL is one of the closest major airports to a city center in Florida, and the house sits in central Fort Lauderdale, so a rideshare from the terminal is quick and inexpensive.
Is Miami or Palm Beach ever a better airport for the nest?
Sometimes, on price. Miami is about 45 minutes south and Palm Beach about 50 minutes north. If a fare into one of them is much cheaper, or if you are arriving from Europe or South America on a long-haul carrier, it can be worth the longer drive. For most domestic trips FLL is the easy answer.
