How many people can stay at Turtle Nest Bungalow?
Up to ten guests. There are three bedrooms with two king beds and one queen bed, plus two sleeper sofas, and a Pack 'n Play for a baby is always in the house.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Self check-in uses a keypad code that we send before you arrive.
Is the pool heated?
Yes. The private pool is heated and has a shallow sun shelf for lounging or for small children, with deck chairs and loungers around it.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are welcome. Tell us how many and what kind when you book so the house is ready. The Pets section of this site covers dog beaches, parks, patios, vets and traveling in with a pet.
Is there parking?
Free on-site parking for up to two cars.
How far is the beach?
Fort Lauderdale Beach is about ten minutes by car, and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park sits right behind it. The Intracoastal water taxi stops within walking distance of the house.
How far are the airport and the cruise port?
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is roughly 15 minutes by car and Port Everglades about the same, which is why many guests stay with us before or after a cruise.
Is there fast Wi-Fi for working?
Yes. Gig-speed Wi-Fi, a dedicated work desk, and a wireless printer and scanner available as an add-on. Longer corporate stays are welcome.
Can we host an event, a shower or a photo shoot?
Yes, by arrangement in advance. The house is used for showers, dinners, retreats, team offsites and photo or video shoots, and a PA system, projector and backyard screen can be added for a fee. See the Events and Retreats pages.
Is the home accessible?
It is a single-story house with no interior stairs and one low step at the front door. One bathroom has a walk-in shower and the other has a tub and shower; grab bars are not installed. Full details are on our accessibility statement, and we are happy to measure anything you need to know.
Do you allow smoking?
No. The home is non-smoking indoors.
Are there security cameras?
There are exterior security cameras at the property. There are no cameras inside the home.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 48 hours before check-in for a full refund; after that the booking is non-refundable. The exact terms for your dates are shown at checkout and in your confirmation, and those govern. We recommend travel insurance in hurricane season.
Why book direct instead of through a platform?
Booking direct through our own checkout means you skip the third-party service fee and deal with the hosts directly before, during and after your stay. Availability is the same.
Is the house good for families with young children?
Yes. There is a Pack 'n Play, children's books and toys, board games, a shallow sun shelf in the pool, and a fully fenced backyard. The pool has no lifeguard, so children must be supervised at all times.
What is included for the beach?
Beach towels, an umbrella, a beach blanket and snorkeling gear are in the house, along with four bicycles for getting around the neighborhood.
