Yes, you can bring your dog to Turtle Nest Bungalow. The house has a fully fenced backyard of roughly 3,000 square feet with new artificial turf, an outdoor shower for rinsing off sand, and Holiday Park about a five-minute walk away. Tell us about your pet (how many, what kind) when you book, and ask us about pet terms.

What the house offers a dog

The backyard is fully fenced, with its own private entrance and new artificial turf, so a dog can go straight out after a long drive or flight. The outdoor shower is the place to rinse off salt and sand after a day out. The pool is for people: hose the dog down with the outdoor shower instead.

Guests have stayed here with their pets before, and Airbnb tags several of the house's reviews "Stayed with a pet." The house sits in the Lakeridge neighborhood at 1116 NE 16th Ave. Publix is within walking distance for anything you forget, the beach is about 2 miles away (roughly a 10-minute drive), and the airport is about 15 minutes.

House rules that matter with a dog

  • Quiet hours run from 9 pm to 8 am. The house has a noise monitor and exterior security cameras, so plan late walks and yard time with barking in mind.
  • Arrival and departure: self check-in with a keypad from 4 pm, and checkout at 11 am. The minimum stay is two nights.
  • Your pet: tell us about your pet (how many, what kind) when you book, and ask us about pet terms. Mention anything the house should know, such as a dog that barks at the door or likes to dig.

Where dogs can go in Fort Lauderdale

The local rules that shape every outing, as of September 2026.

City dog parksYes, off leash insideCurrent vaccinations and license; no more than three dogs per person

State parksYes, leashedHand-held leash, six feet at most; not on beaches or playgrounds or in buildings
The pool at the houseNoRinse the dog with the outdoor shower instead

The city has allowed dogs in all 110 of its parks since November 2024, and its park rules ask that every dog have current vaccinations and a license. Broward County requires dogs and cats 4 months and older to be vaccinated against rabies and to wear a county tag, but Broward's licensing service says non-residents only need to register a pet that is in the county for at least 3 months. For a vacation, bring your dog's rabies certificate and keep its home license and rabies tags on the collar.

What to pack for a dog

  • A leash no longer than six feet, the limit in city and state parks, plus a spare.
  • More waste bags than you think you need.
  • The rabies certificate and vaccination records, on paper or on your phone.
  • A collar with an ID tag and your home license and rabies tags.
  • Food, bowls, the dog's bed or crate, and any medications.
  • An old towel for the outdoor shower, and a dog life vest if you plan to paddle.

Save an emergency vet's number before you need it; the emergency vets page below lists the options near the house.

The first evening

Self check-in opens at 4 pm, which leaves daylight for settling in. Set out water, show the dog the yard and where the outdoor shower is, then take a short leashed walk to Holiday Park, which is open until 11 pm. As of September 2026 the park is mid-upgrade: the playground is closed, some paths have detours, and the western part of the dog run is expected to stay closed through summer 2027, while the rest keeps its posted hours. Have everyone back inside and settled before quiet hours begin at 9 pm.
