A surprising share of our longer bookings are people who work from the house: a couple of weeks in winter with a laptop, a month between leases, a team offsite that turns into a work-week. The set-up at the nest is built for it, and the neighborhood has everything else. Details checked in September 2026.
The set-up at the house
Free gig-speed Wi-Fi, a dedicated work desk, and a wireless printer, copier and scanner available as an add-on if you arrange it before arrival. Three bedrooms mean a closed door for calls, and the covered patio is a second office with a fan and a pool view. Two kitchens keep lunch from colliding with someone else's coffee. Fort Lauderdale is on Eastern Time, so a West Coast team gets your mornings and a European one gets your afternoons.
The neighborhood around the house
The nest sits in Victoria Park, a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood a few minutes from downtown and about ten from the beach — an easy place to settle in for a couple of weeks. You can walk or bike to coffee, and downtown, Las Olas and Flagler Village are all a short ride away when you want dinner or a change of scene after the workday. Our Victoria Park guide covers the streets around the house, and the Flagler Village guide covers the arts-and-cafe district just north, where most of the coffee shops below are.
Coffee shops for a change of scene
- Circle House Coffee, 727 NE 3rd Ave (Flagler Village), founded by former NFL linebacker Stephen Tulloch. Open from 6:30 am on weekdays and 7 am on weekends.
- Wells Coffee, 737 NE 2nd Ave (Flagler Village), open 7 am to 6 pm on weekdays with shorter weekend hours.
- Brew Urban Cafe, 638 N Federal Hwy in Victoria Park, the closest to the house, open until 8 pm most nights. Confirm hours before you count on it.
All three are a short bike ride from the nest (four bikes are in the house) or a five-minute drive. See our breakfast and brunch guide for the sit-down options.
Coworking by the day
General Provision Downtown (300 SW 1st Ave, suite 155) and Industrious Las Olas (200 E Las Olas Blvd) both sell day passes through booking platforms; listed prices ranged from about $19 to $50 a day when we checked, and Industrious keeps weekday office hours. Both are downtown, about ten minutes from the house.
Meetings in Miami
The Brightline station is at 101 NW 2nd Ave, downtown, with a 24-hour garage. Trains reach MiamiCentral in about 30 minutes, and there is a paid shuttle between the station and the airport. Our airport and Brightline guide covers fares and the walk to Miami's free Metromover.
The rhythm that works
Guests who do this well keep a short list: a morning swim before the first call, lunch on the patio, one afternoon block at a coffee shop, and the beach at five. Groceries come from the supermarkets a few minutes away, and the water taxi handles evenings without a car.
Making it a month
Winter is the popular stretch for a workation here, when the weather up north makes the case for you; the best time to visit guide compares the months if your dates are flexible. Longer stays are welcome, with mid-stay cleaning on request and monthly rates on application. Tell us your dates and what you need for work and we will set the house up before you land. Details on the policies page; questions to contact.
