This Privacy Policy explains how Turtle Nest Bungalow (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit this website or contact us about a stay. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to answer your enquiry and host you well.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, approximate dates, guest count, and any message you provide. If you book, your reservation is handled by our booking provider (Lodgify) under their own terms and privacy policy.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our host may log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, for security and to keep the site running. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how the site is used, as described under Cookies and Google Analytics below.

Cookies. We use only the cookies necessary for the site to function unless you accept the optional analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

How we use your information

To respond to your enquiry and arrange your stay;
To provide information you request about availability, group stays, or shoots;
To operate, secure, and improve this website;
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us operate, each of which processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms:

Cloudflare — hosts this website and serves it through its network (standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages requested);
Resend — delivers the email generated when you submit the contact form;
Lodgify — runs the booking checkout, collects payment and holds your reservation details;
YouTube (Google) — only if you press play on one of the videos on our Reviews page. Videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and nothing loads from Google until you choose to play.
Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — only if you accept analytics cookies; see Cookies and Google Analytics below.
Meta Platforms, Inc. — only if you accept cookies: the Meta Pixel; see Meta Pixel below.

Only if you accept cookies, the site also runs the owner’s Meta Pixel, described below. We do not use session-recording tools or third-party chat widgets. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and Google Analytics

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use analytics cookies. Until you press Accept, this site loads nothing from Google and sets no analytics cookies. If you press Decline, it stays that way.

If you press Accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC. It records the pages you view, how you reached the site (for example from a search engine or another website), your approximate location (country, region and city, worked out from your IP address) and your device type, browser and screen size. We use these figures to see which pages guests find useful and to improve the site. The Analytics property that receives them (measurement ID G-6H1D6HKHCM) belongs to the owner of Turtle Nest Bungalow.

After you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_6H1D6HKHCM, which tell one visit from another and expire two years after your last visit. Your choice itself is kept in your browser’s local storage (as cavConsent) so the banner does not ask again on every page; the Motion setting, if you change it, is kept there the same way (as tn-motion).

Changing your mind. Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. It forgets your choice, deletes the Google Analytics cookies this site set and shows the banner again. Clearing this site’s cookies and data in your browser does the same. Google also offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on every website.

Google handles this information under its own terms: see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy. Google keeps the detailed Analytics records for the retention period the property owner chooses (2 or 14 months for a standard property); summary reports that do not identify anyone are kept longer.

Meta Pixel

If you press Accept, the site also loads the Meta Pixel, a tool of Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). It belongs to the owner of Turtle Nest Bungalow (pixel ID 731415306103631) and ran on the previous version of this website too. It tells Meta that your browser visited this site and which pages it viewed (directly, and through the owner’s Meta Conversions API gateway), so the owner can measure visits from Facebook and Instagram and can show Turtle Nest ads there to people who have visited. Meta may connect the visit to a Facebook or Instagram account you are logged in to. It sets the cookies _fbp (up to 90 days) and, when you arrive from a Meta ad, _fbc. Until you accept, nothing from Meta loads. Meta handles this information under its Privacy Policy, and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. Because the Meta Pixel helps show ads to people who visited, California law may treat it as “sharing” for advertising. To opt out, press Decline on the cookie banner, or use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page to take back an earlier Accept: the pixel then stops loading and its cookies are deleted. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the pixel never loads, even after Accept. You can also email info@turtlenestbungalow.com.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages for up to 24 months so we can follow up on your enquiry, then delete them. Reservation records are retained by our booking provider and by us for as long as tax and hospitality regulations require (generally seven years).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Under the GDPR (EEA/UK) these rights apply to residents there; under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information; the Meta Pixel, which runs only after you accept cookies, may count as “sharing”, and you can opt out as described under Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Residents of Brazil have the rights set out in the LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados), including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability and deletion. To exercise any right, email info@turtlenestbungalow.com and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires (within 30 days in most cases). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

International transfers

We are based in the United States; if you contact us from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the U.S. We take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version.
