If you drive to your cruise, Port Everglades has garages and lots right beside the terminals, charged by the day. It is convenient and simple, if not the cheapest option. Here is what it costs, how payment works, and when it makes more sense to skip parking altogether.

On-site parking

The port's own parking sits steps from the terminals: surface Lots A, B and C plus two garages, Heron and Palm, positioned near the different terminal clusters. As posted, the standard daily rate maxes out around twenty dollars, with oversized vehicles around twenty-five. You are charged by the day, which means both the day you drop the car and the day you collect it count, plus every day between — a seven-night cruise is effectively eight parking days.

How payment works

The port does not take reservations or pre-payment for standard cruise parking. You pull a ticket on the way in and pay on the way out, by cash or credit card. Rates change, so check the current figure on the port's official parking page rather than trusting an old number, and head for the garage or lot nearest your terminal.

Off-site lots

Independent lots near the port run cheaper — often somewhere around five to ten dollars a day — and include a shuttle to and from your terminal. For a longer cruise the saving adds up, at the cost of a little time on the shuttle at each end. Book those directly with the operator; they do take reservations, so you can lock in a space ahead of a busy weekend.

Or skip parking entirely

For many guests the easiest answer is not to park at all. If you are staying at the house before the cruise, a rideshare or taxi to the terminal is quick and means no parking fee and no car to collect when you disembark. If you flew in, you likely have no car anyway — see airport to Port Everglades. Driving and parking makes the most sense if you live within driving distance of Fort Lauderdale and brought your own car; the last-mile guide weighs the choice.

A note on price and value

On-site parking buys convenience: park, walk to the ship, done. Off-site buys a lower rate for a short shuttle. Rideshare buys freedom from both. For a group already renting a house nearby, the rideshare route is usually the least hassle and often the least expensive once you count eight days of port parking.

Questions people ask

How much is parking at Port Everglades for a cruise?

On-site parking is charged by the day, with a standard maximum posted around twenty dollars and oversized vehicles around twenty-five. Rates change, so check the port's official parking page for the current figure. Off-site lots near the port run cheaper, often around five to ten dollars a day with a shuttle.

Can you reserve parking at Port Everglades?

Not for the port's own standard cruise parking — you pull a ticket on arrival and pay on exit by cash or credit card. Independent off-site lots near the port do take reservations, so if you want to lock in a cheaper space ahead of time, book one of those directly with the operator.

Where do you park for a cruise at Port Everglades?

In the port's surface Lots A, B and C or its Heron and Palm garages, all near the terminals — aim for the one closest to your terminal. Cheaper independent lots sit just outside the port and run shuttles to the ship. Or skip parking and take a rideshare.

Is it charged for the day you leave and the day you return?

Yes. Port parking is charged by the day and counts both the drop-off day and the pickup day, plus every day in between, so a seven-night cruise is effectively eight parking days. Factor that in when comparing parking to a rideshare.

Is it better to park or take a rideshare to the cruise?

If you are staying at a house nearby or flew in, a rideshare is usually simplest — no parking fee and no car to collect after the cruise. Parking makes the most sense if you live within driving distance and brought your own car. For a group, count eight days of parking against two rideshares before deciding.
